The Packaged Plant room can be situated outside in either a 10 or 20 foot shipping style container or in a ‘horse box’ style mobile trailer.

Trailer Boiler Update 

Our latest batch of three bespoke Trailer Boilers left our Stoke On Trent site recently. Industry terminology differs, you may also see units such as these referred to as mobile packaged plant rooms. With this particular build to customer needed three trailer boilers building at the same time.

As previous articles have eluded to, some organisations need the flexibility of mobile plant. Whether that be for rolling repair projects across large sites or simply kept in reserve for contingency purposes for the winter months. 

These particular trailer boilers were to provide heating and hot water generation. Applications for these units are usually for small to medium-sized undertakings. The type of organisations that may benefit from these mobile units are holiday parks, hotels, councils, renovation projects, or insurance/reparation jobs to name a few. 

The boilers in this project were condensing, high-efficiency wall-hung boilers that are highly compact making it possible to easily fit four boilers in one fourteen-foot long/seven-foot high horse box style trailer. Over time we have perfected our design. Our more recent designs have included more stainless steel flexible hoses. This allows for more movement in transit than rigid pipes would. Any significant movement could cause leaks with rigid pipework.

UK HVAC Supplies have taken delivery of two new BV100 trailer by Ifor Williams. Ifor Williams are Britain’s leading trailer manufacturer with a long-standing reputation for producing reliable and robust trailers.  These quality trailers will soon to be made into packaged plant rooms. Each bespoke mobile plant room will be providing 400kw of heating. In addition,100kw packaged hot water system with hydraulic separation and expansion. These bespoke mobile Plant Rooms has been designed in conjunction with our customers and their specific requirements. Bringing together the excellence of our design and build engineers and working together with our client to ensure the plant room fits their needs.

These units are incredibly versatile, and you find them very easy to manoeuvre. This particular unit is 7 feet high and 14 feet long. So plenty of headroom as well as being long and wide enough to house large boiler units or multiple smaller wall-hung style units.

We also offer the same unit in a static option should you require something more ‘permanent’ than a mobile plant room .  These are ideal for companies that have found extensive asbestos in their boiler rooms. We are now looking to place the boilers externally as a more permanent solution.

We have just completed the second, of what will become, a fleet of bespoke 600kw Trailer Boilers, built on behalf of a major UK Boiler Distributor.

These portable trailer boiler units are in fact Mobile Plant Rooms, capable of providing both heating and domestic hot water and with a total output of 600kw. Dairy Farm Steam Boiler Replacement

A local Dairy had an urgent requirement for a replacement Steam Boiler to service their Milk production plant.  Having fully researched the project UKHVAC Supplies decided that the best solution for the Dairy Farm Steam Boiler project was the Unical BARH 12 2000kg boiler.  This particular boiler met the strict design criteria set down by the Dairy’s Project Management Team.

The BAHR 12 high-pressure, three-pass reverse flame wet back boiler has efficiencies between 90 – 96%.

BAHR’12 is a family of packaged smoke tube steam boilers.  Standard safety pressure up to 12 bar (higher pressure available on request) and output from 300 to 6000 kg/h. It can be operated with liquid or gaseous fuels. Every model is complete with regulations and safety accessories for automatic operation and easy commissioning.

BAHR’12 Construction features

Boiler body

The boiler body is made up of a cylindrical shell, hearth, hearth bottom, and flat steel piping plates. This is sized according to the VSG calculation code (Generators Stability Verification) and CTI recommendations and in compliance with the technical standards in force.
The materials used are accompanied by manufacturing certificates attesting to the chemical and mechanical features and inspections during the production cycle and therefore their suitability to use.
The welded joints are performed at an electric arc according to approved procedures by properly qualified personnel and subjected, according to an internal level of “Manufacture and Control”, to Non-Destructive Testing.
The smoke pipes that make up the tube bundle, are welded to the piping plates by means of qualified automatic procedures. When production is finished, any pressurised body is tested by carrying out the hydraulic test in compliance with laws/standards in force.

Front door

The front door is made of welded steel sheet. This is coated internally with a layer of insulating material (towards the outside) and a layer of refractory material (towards the inside). It is mounted on hinges that allow opening reversibility and complete adjustment.
It is equipped with self-cleaning flame-warning light. This is suitably positioned to control the correctness of combustion in operation; on the same is bolted the burner coupling plate, supplied blind, can be prepared for the type of burner indicated by the customer.

Rear smoke chamber

The smoke chamber, made of welded steel sheet and insulated with rock wool. This is fixed to the rear tube plate by bolts to allow its removal. It is equipped with a suitable cleaning door and smoke connection with horizontal axis of suitable diameter to the power of the generator.

Base and walking surface covering

The base is constituted by a frame made of steel profiles electro-welded to the tube plates and closed by means of welded steel plate. The service walkway located at the top of the generator is also composed of a steel profile frame. This is covered with chequered sheet metal (walking surface covering) and, when required, completed with a parapet with handrail.

Insulation of the planking and gables

The thermal insulation of the planking is obtained with rock wool mattress, linked with thermosetting resins, suitably supported and coated on the outside by the pre-painted aluminum case. The device gables (steam rooms) are also insulated with rock wool, externally encased. Particular attention has been paid to the drastic reduction of thermal bridges, through the interposition of felts and insulating gaskets in order to prevent body contact with the coating. This reduces the surface temperatures and limits dispersions to the benefit of both safety and yield.
